CARLIN, NV, February 22, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Sylvia Lynn Micheli, RN, has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With eight years of practiced experience in the intense and challenging field of emergency medicine, Mrs. Micheli is recognized for excellence as a registered nurse with Battle Mountain General Hospital, a health care facility dedicated to serving the residents of Lander County, Nevada. A vital member of the hospital’s team since 2021, she excels at providing compassionate care to patients in critical condition, doing everything within her power to ensure immediate attention and support when they need it. In addition to her role with Battle Mountain General Hospital, Mrs. Micheli works per diem as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) RN with Lander County EMS and also volunteers as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician with Elko County EMS.

As a high school student, Mrs. Micheli dreamed of becoming a medico-legal death investigator. This opened the door for her to be a delegate for People to People Medical Delegate in Baltimore, Maryland (2006), Close Up in Washington D.C. (a US Government camp, 2007), and Nevada Girls State at Lake Tahoe, Nevada (2007). Upon graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a minor in Anthropology/Archaeology, she recognized the intense competition in the field. To improve herself, she then obtained at Great Basin College (GBC) an Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice/ Law Enforcement emphasis, awarded honors of Cum Laude and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) member. Mrs. Micheli was then still unable to be competitive at the time in the crime scene field and shifted sights toward nursing. She obtained another Associates of Applied Science from GBC, this time in Nursing, awarded honors of Cum Laude, PTK, and High Sierra Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Mrs. Micheli takes great pride in being a nurse, a position she worked hard to achieve; her dedication and skill have not gone unnoticed, and she is deeply moved by the positive affirmations from those around her who acknowledge her excellence in the field. Among her accolades, she was the proud nominee of a 2023 Outstanding Nurses Award by the Elko Daily Free Press (EDPF).

Mrs. Micheli is also a licensed advanced emergency medical technician with Nevada and certified nationally. She holds additional certifications in Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support (CPR and AED), Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nurse Core Course certified, Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certified, and Advanced Burn Life Support certified.

In considering the impetus for her success, Mrs. Micheli credits her loving and supportive family, including her wife, Khatlyn, their daughter Maevyn, and her parents and in-laws. In the coming years, Mrs. Micheli hopes to transition into the field of travel nursing, a dream that is wholeheartedly supported and encouraged by her loved ones.

Mrs. Micheli is a violinist who has been playing for 23 years; in her free time, she enjoys playing in her community’s orchestra. She is an active and founding member of the Fort Ruby Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She is also still active with the PTK National Honor Society and Frontier High Seirra AHEC. All of these extracurricular activities have provided scholarships and recognitions for Mrs. Micheli throughout her high school and college experiences. In addition to above mentioned award, she has also been recognized in EDFP for her involvement with Nevada Girl State, Elko Community Orchestra, a disaster drill with GBC, Elko Track and Field competitors, her trip to Baltimore, Maryland, as well as recognized at Nationals Bowling with USBC for competition in the team event in 2013.
