Prior to his current role, Mr. Jordan was a senior Java software engineer at Jewelry Television from 2022 to 2023. He also held significant positions as a senior application architect and lead software engineer at IQVIA Inc. between 2017 and 2021 and as a senior software developer at SAS from 2009 to 2017.
Mr. Jordan’s earlier career includes time as a research associate at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2007 to 2009, where he applied his computing skills to bioinformatics and data warehousing. He served as the vice president (senior analyst and developer) at Credit Suisse between 2005 and 2007 and was the president of Object Identity Inc. from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Jordan’s expertise was previously honed as a systems architect at BuildNet in 2000 and as a Consulting Engineer at Ericsson from 1998 to 2000. Moreover, Mr. Jordan contributed significantly to the Object Database Management Group as a C++ editor and Java editor between 1994 and 2000. He also served in the Java Data Objects expert group within Sun’s Java Community Process.
Mr. Jordan’s foundational experiences were gained at Bell Laboratories between 1983 and 1998, where he served as a technical lead and was appointed a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. There, he became the seventh person in the world to begin using C++. In 1986, he convinced the company Ontologic to adopt C++ as the language used for their object database, serving on their technical advisory board to guide the development of the first C++ object database. He also worked at NCR Corporation, where he began his career as a software engineer from 1979 to 1983.

He has authored six books, including on C++ Object Databases, four books on releases by the Object Database Management Group, as well as a book on Java Data Objects.
Building upon an impressive academic foundation, Mr. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Science in cognitive psychology and computer science from Randolph-Macon College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, as well as a Master of Science in computer science from Wright State University and a second master’s degree in bioinformatics from North Carolina State University, where he also completed courses in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Bayesian statistical techniques.
As Mr. Jordan approaches retirement age, he is considering opportunities for consulting work that would allow him to offer strategic advice while maintaining flexibility in his schedule.
