As part of the Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) mission to ensure that people affected by congenital heart disease and childhood-acquired heart disease are recognized, supported and have an equal opportunity with everyone else, the Chair and the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of CHF has been involved with the British Cardiovascular Society for many years.
Through collaboration with other patients and the active support of others in the congenital heart disease world, this commitment has now been recognized.
The British Cardiovascular Society celebrates its centenary with a reception hosted by HRH The Princess Royal at St James Palace.
Paul, who was born with his heart condition, is also a Trustee of the Children’s Heart Association* said:
“As an adult with a congenital heart defect, I know how hard life can be for us, our families and friends. Hopefully this event will show people that our issues are being addressed at the highest level and that improvements will continue to build on past successes.”
Julie, surviving parent of a heart child and the driving force behind the Max Appeal* charity, said:
“This is a great opportunity to show how far congenital heart disease services have come and how far they still have to go. I am proud to have the opportunity to represent the native heart community at this prestigious occasion.”
