As the Administrator of Price Disposal since 2001, he has showcased his expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence, with his leadership playing a pivotal role in the company’s community and educational outreach. Ray has created community events over the past 27 years. Just a couple of examples: the Greater Bakersfield Green Expo (2010 to 2017) with over 1,000 students participating providing $60,000 in cash awards to students; from 2010 to present Ray has led the Keep Bakersfield Beautiful America Recycles Day; and from (2014 to 2020) the Keep California Beautiful K-12 Recycling Challenge. Over 500 California schools participated in this event providing over $130,000 in cash awards to schools.

Mr. Scott has held various roles throughout his management career journey. He spent 12 years in the food service industry ending in 2001 with Aramark Sports and Entertainment. He was a member of the food operations management team for the 2001 World Figure Skating Championship in Vancouver Canada and the 2000 Opening Team for Cincinnati Bengals NFL Stadium. He also had tenure at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, beginning in 1989, and his service as an Operations Chief of Marine Corps Exchange from 1983 to 1987. Additionally, his leadership as Student Body Treasurer at Taft College from 1980 to 1982 exemplifies his early commitment to financial stewardship and community involvement.

On top of his professional pursuits, Mr. Scott’s civic engagement vividly illustrates his dedication to serving others. He is currently the Board President Emeritus for Keep California Beautiful after serving as Board President and Executive Director since 2012. For more than 13 years, he has held the position of chairman of Career Technical Education with the Kern High School District and has actively supported the Taft College Foundation as a board member. His leadership in the Bakersfield Relay for Life and American Cancer Society, spanning over a decade, underscores his unwavering commitment to philanthropy and community outreach. Furthermore, Mr. Scott has lent his expertise as a board member of Bakersfield Christian High for eight years and the Jesus Shack for five years. In 1996 Ray’s passion for community events began with the Bakersfield Centennial Celebration as part of the Spiritual Heritage and Grand Opening Committee organizing the Bakersfield Centennial Gospel Night from 1997 to 2004 involving over 25 churches in eight years.

In addition to his notable career and civic engagements, Mr. Scott is also an accomplished author. His book, “Faith, Cancer, God’s Miracle” published by Trilogy Christian Publishing in 2023, serves as an inspirational testament to his unwavering faith and resilience in the face of adversity. Furthermore, his military service in the U.S. Marine Corps as an E-5 Sergeant, exchange operation chief, and chaplain in a special operations unit is a testament to his dedication to a life of service by “Honoring God & Encouraging Others.”
