Ms. Kittrell has served honorably in the United States Navy since 1999 and currently holds the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9), the highest enlistment rank attainable. As part of her duties, she is a senior executive in the Navy Personnel Command and Task Force Talent Management, in addition to her work in aviation administration. Ms. Kittrell previously served in Strike Fighter Squadron Three Seven from 2017 to 2020 and as an administrator at the Mid-Atlantic Fleet Readiness Center from 2008 to 2010. During her military service, she realized that everyone leads internal struggles. She decided to take a stand as a leader and speak out about the importance of mental health, which received great feedback and support.
Ms. Kittrell has turned her military and life experiences into a valuable mentoring service and has become an established and respected writer in her genre. Her books include the recent Never be Afraid to Eat Alone, published in 2022, whose content encourages self-knowledge and introspection. “Wake up. turn up Bless Up, published in 2020, serves as an inspirational book for working women. Her first book, Unapologetically Favored: A Woman. A leader. A Testimony, released in 2019, is a memoir of personal details about Ms. Kittrell’s own struggles and accomplishments. Writing and publishing her books has become her healing process as it allows her to be vulnerable. Sharing her stories, telling her truths, and exploring her flaws while helping others do the same has led to a fulfilling and joyful career. Additionally, Ms. Kittrell has been active on the radio since 2022 with her iHeart radio show titled “Unapologetically Favored.” She also hosts a podcast for Transformation Talk Radio.
Ms. Kittrell has been very successful in her endeavors and proudly accepted various awards for her service, including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, which included a 2015 letter from President Barack Obama. In 2022, she was also featured by Voyage Baltimore Magazine. Reflection, Ms. Kittrell attributes her success to her faith in the natural process of life and to her positive attitude, which believes that everyone’s life has meaning. She recognizes those around her who nurture, support her, and help her through challenges, including her friend Trish, her mother, and her grandfather. Additionally, learning from life’s mishaps and adversities has helped her get to where she is today.
Additionally, Ms. Kittrell remains involved in several roles in her community. A civil-minded citizen, she has participated in the Bob Feller Act of Valor Foundation since 2016. Since 2014, she has served as a judge and mentor for Chicago High School’s NJROTC program and as an events coordinator for a summer training program with the US Naval Sea Cadets Corp.
As part of her professional career, Ms. Kittrell earned an associate degree in business administration and management and a second associate degree in supervisor management, both from Coastline College. She then earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Charleston in 2020. She strives to use her expertise to guide others to personal discovery and is a certified Life Purpose Coach and Professional Life Coach through the Transformation Academy. She has also completed additional training, including as a Post-Secondary Instructor for the National Center for Competency Testing, and in 2016 earned the rank of Master Training Specialist.
Looking ahead, Ms. Kittrell hopes to pursue and complete a master’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Charleston. She later hopes to become a life coach for the United States Navy, helping rescue the nation’s sailors from their personal hardships and challenges. She also wants to train the military’s current advisers to improve their coaching skills and abilities.
