Report: WhatsApp is Working on Displaying Profile Photos in Group Chats for iOS

According to a previous report, iPhone models running iOS 10 or iOS 11 will soon stop supporting WhatsApp. According to reports, the changes will go into effect on October 24. Users with older iPhones will need to upgrade to iOS 12 or later in order to continue using WhatsApp. This step may compel iPhone 5 and 5c owners to upgrade to a newer iPhone model. Another report claims that updating to a new iOS build on these iPhone models is not feasible.

According to a May WABetaInfo report, Apple will soon discontinue support for WhatsApp on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. According to the report, WhatsApp may end support for iOS 10 and iOS 11 on October 24.

Users of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c may need to upgrade their hardware because installing an iOS update that supports WhatsApp is practically impossible. Users with iPhone 5s or later models, on the other hand, can update to iOS 12 and continue to receive WhatsApp support.

WhatsApp’s requirements have been updated on its FAQ page to reflect these changes. iPhone users will need to update to iOS 12 or later in order to keep the messaging platform running on their devices. In comparison, the app continues to support Android 4.1 devices.

The majority of Apple users should have no issues with this update. According to its statistics, 89 percent of iPhone users have upgraded to iOS 15. In addition, 82% of all Apple users have upgraded to iOS 15. Only 4% of users have iOS 13 or previous versions installed.

Go to Settings > General > Software Upgrade and select the iOS version you want to install.
