Having begun his legal career in 2008, Mr. Homen joined the Law Offices of Mark A. Homen in Hayward, California, as an associate attorney. He subsequently became a contract attorney at Black Letter Discovery in Cleveland from 2013 to 2014 and an associate attorney at McBride & Associates PC in Edmond, Oklahoma. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Homen clerked for Freidberg & Parker LLC in Sacramento, California, from 2007 to 2008 and for Anderlini, Finkelstein, Emerick & Smoot Law Corporation in San Mateo, California, in 2008. He was also a columnist for The California Aggie in Davis between 2006 and 2007.

Among many career highlights, Mr. Homen was appointed by the U.S. Trustee Program, a component of the U.S. Department of Justice, as a Chapter 7 panel trustee in 2023, representing the bankruptcy estate on behalf of creditors in Eastern Oklahoma. He is among a select group of 700 trustees nationwide to conduct bankruptcy reviews by other attorneys. He has also been appointed to the Rules Committee of the Western District of Oklahoma’s Bankruptcy Court.

Actively involved in his community, Mr. Homen is a board member and past president of the Vinehaven Homeowners Association. He formerly taught Sunday school classes to fifth and sixth graders at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, was a junior high teacher at The Bridge Foursquare Church, and was a member of the city relations commission at the University of California in Davis. Mr. Homen has also consistently donated to Compassion International each month since 2003, and is a youth soccer coach at the YMCA.

To prepare for his career in law, Mr. Homen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of California at Davis in 2006 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 2008. While pursuing his law degree, he served as a comment staff member and chief articles editor for the university’s Global Business & Development Law Journal. He was also elected into the Order of the Coif. Mr. Homen has been admitted to practice by the California and Oklahoma Bar Associations. He also received credentials as a real estate broker and title insurance producer in Oklahoma.

To further ensure his place at the forefront of his profession, Mr. Homen is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and the Oklahoma State Bar Association. He is also a member of the bench and bar committee of the Oklahoma State Bar Association, a rules committee member of the Western District of Oklahoma Bankruptcy Court, and the chair of the bankruptcy section of the Oklahoma County Bar Association.
