Report: WhatsApp is Working on Displaying Profile Photos in Group Chats for iOS

WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new in-app survey chat feature that will be used to gather feedback on new features, products, and more. WhatsApp allegedly sent users a request for a secure chat while soliciting feedback. According to the report, users will be able to decline such WhatsApp requests. A new feature that allows users to send messages to themselves from linked devices is also said to be in testing.

According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp feature tracker, WhatsApp may be working on a secure in-app survey chat. Users should be able to decline invitations to survey chats and even block WhatsApp from sending future surveys. According to reports, WhatsApp will keep user feedback from this survey private.

According to the report, WhatsApp would only use the survey chat for feedback purposes. There is no word on when this feature will be made available to users. However, it is expected to be released to a very small number of users at first.

In related news, WhatsApp may be working on allowing users to send messages to themselves between linked devices. This feature should be available in future updates. It is thought to be an update to the earlier this year released multi-device support.

Currently, WhatsApp only displays the chat with a user’s phone number on the primary device. When using multiple devices, it is not supported. Users searching for contacts on WhatsApp for Desktop beta will see their names at the top of the list, according to the feature tracker. Furthermore, this chat may appear when attempting to log in from a new smartphone. This feature is expected to be available soon on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. It is said to be in the works and could be released at a later date.
