Throughout this period, his diplomatic efforts were instrumental in advancing peace and cooperation on an international scale. Additionally, Dr. Toperich is a nonresident fellow at the Soran University Research Center in Iraqi Kurdistan and the chairman of the supervisory board at the Mediterranean Development Initiative (MDI) in Tunis, Tunisia.
Prior to his distinguished career in diplomacy and international relations, Dr. Toperich was celebrated as a world-renowned pianist from 1990 to 2004. His concert in Washington, DC, in 1997 was broadcast nationwide on National Public Radio, earning him a nomination for Best Debut Artist. In recognition of his contributions to music and cultural diplomacy, he was named UNESCO Artist for Peace in 1998.
Dr. Toperich’s academic background includes a PhD in music performance from the Music Academy in Lovran, Croatia, completed between 1997 and 1999. He also holds a master’s degree in music from the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance and completed postdoctoral studies at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics at Stanford University. Well-regarded for his scholarly prowess in both music and international diplomacy, Dr. Toperich is the editor of nine books.
