Boasting nearly 30 years of experience in teaching and research, Mrs. El-Hindi has established herself as a prominent figure in the field. As a multidisciplinary educator, consciousness researcher, lecturer, and author, she founded Nas Learning Center (NLC) in 2008 with the aim of providing critically informed education in Arabic, Quranic, and Islamic studies to Muslim youth and adults in Syracuse, New York.
Mrs. El-Hindi also pioneered a system for self-empowerment dubbed the Maryam Method and offers non-denominational consciousness development courses based on her expertise in the Quran. Beyond education, NLC serves as a hub for interfaith dialogue and spiritual growth, seeking to broaden the scope of traditional Islam to encompass the entire message of the Qur’an. Concurrently, she dedicated her efforts as an instructor at Onondaga Community College from 2016 to 2019, following her contributions to Syracuse University.
Originally from Algeria, Mrs. El-Hindi earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine in Algeria, followed by a Bachelor of Science in physics from the same institution in 1994. Her coursework at the University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine was later evaluated by Word Communication International, qualifying her bachelor’s degree as a Master of Science in physics.
After relocating to the United States, Mrs. El-Hindi furthered her education, obtaining a Master of Science in mechanical aerospace engineering from Syracuse University in 1997. In 2008, she went on to earn a Master of Science in Islamic studies from American Open University in Alexandria. Throughout her academic journey, encompassing both scientific and religious studies, she honed her teaching skills as an adjunct instructor in engineering and mathematics at various colleges and universities in New York and Arizona. Additionally, she is a certified hypnotherapist.
In light of her accomplishments, Mrs. El-Hindi was honored with an excellence award for her contributions to teaching mathematics and four awards in community leadership from institutions in Arizona and New York. She is the author of “The Universal Call: A Journey to Consciousness,” an exploration of consciousness and its impact on one’s daily life.
Outside her professional pursuits, Mrs. El-Hindi is a devoted mother to six children. Her interests include crochet, calligraphy, cleaning, playing with cats, and enjoying nature walks. Looking forward, she aspires to cultivate global peace and harmony through her teachings, lectures, and writings and to help people coexist no matter their religion or background.
