It promises to be a place where you can elevate your craft, expand your network, and achieve new heights in your creative journey.
*ATP = All Things Photography (www.all-things-photography.com)
Seeking Beta Testers
The team at ATP Members 2.0 say their new website is up and ready to go. However, before officially launching, they are looking to enrol active beta testers to use the site to check for issues, errors, and speed as well as giving feedback on everything inside. There is no limit to the number of beta testers that join but there is a time limit for joining as the site will close for a period whilst things “settle in”.
What does the website offer?
Social Community (The Creative Café)
First and foremost, ATP Members 2.0 aims to provide a thriving community of like-minded individuals who can discuss business, make friends, or simply hang out and chat about their work.
Courses
The site currently has 7 courses aimed at media professionals and amateurs alike. They are mostly designed to improve your skills and help creatives make a living from those skills and include:
- The Wedding Video Blueprint
- Digital Photography Masterclass
- Sell Drone Hyperlapses and Dolly Zooms
- Building WordPress Websites
- Create and Sell eBooks
- Shoot and Sell Stock Video
- Filming Long Guinness World Records
According to the website, there are two more courses in the pipeline (digital video for beginners and property photography and video) and future courses are included in the membership.
Forums and Groups
Each course has a separate forum and group where students and creatives can discuss the course and share ideas. Each group has its own “mini social area” for chatting and showing off your work, and the forum is where people can discuss each course in more detail whilst sharing ideas, findings, and new techniques.
Business Directory
For those members either in business or looking to start one, the business directory gives you a free listing where you can promote yourself or your company. You are encouraged to add as much detail as possible to assist with SEO and being found on the web. It is also where other members can find creatives to perhaps help with work on projects either on location/locally (drone spotter, second shooter etc) or remotely/worldwide (web design, content creator, photo/video editing etc).
Jobs Board
As the site is new, and along with the business directory, this may take a while to populate but the jobs board is there for members to request assistance on jobs that they need help with, whether that’s photography, video, drone, or web design work. Likewise, the board is there for people looking for work which could be anything from one-day/white label work to a full-time position. Like we said, this could take a while to become useful but once the website is active, it could add great value to your membership.
Competitions and Prize Draws
One of the benefits of being a member is the competitions and prize draws. As well as photo competitions each month, there will also be monthly prize draws. The number of, and value of prizes drawn will be directly related to the number of members on the site. I.e., a portion of the monthly fees from all members will go towards the prizes meaning the more members ATP has, the bigger and better the prizes become. The team say that the intention is to give back to the community and have some fun whilst doing so.
What’s in it for you?
When fully launched, a full membership will cost £25 per month but for beta testers joining during “pre-launch”, the fee will be just £10 per month. This fee will also be “grandfathered in” meaning that this is all they will pay each month for the lifetime of their membership regardless of how many new courses are added and how much the volume of prizes increases.
When you consider that the value of the courses alone is over £1200, this could be a great deal for anyone thinking about joining. But there’s more…
Once ATP Members launches fully at £25 per month, all members will be invited to join the affiliate program although it is not compulsory. The sign-up process is relatively simple and includes a mini training course with marketing materials that you can use to promote ATP Members. Once accepted, you are then given your own unique affiliate link that you use to promote ATP Members 2.0.
How does it work? How much can you earn?
Each time you introduce a new member through your link, you will receive 40% of that members’ fee (£25 x 40% = £10) as commission. However, you will receive this commission every month that the new member stays with ATP meaning that by introducing just one new member, your own membership fee is effectively covered each month.
- £15 to ATP Members and £10 to you.
Sign up 10 new members and you get your own fee covered plus an additional £90 per month in commissions.
The affiliate program also has a two-tier structure. This means that if that new member you have just signed up becomes an affiliate themselves and introduces a new member, they now earn £10 per month but you
now get an additional £5 commission every month for that member too.
- £10 to ATP Members, £10 to your affiliate sign up and £5 to you.
The potential for earning a great side income is quite promising and appears to be a win-win for all. It is important though, to understand that the main focus of ATP Members 2.0 is community and learning. The affiliate program is simply there for those that wish to participate, it isn’t mandatory and is certainly not there to be abused.
Who is behind ATP Members?
Nick Stubbs is a professional photographer and videographer shooting weddings, commercial, stock and properties since the mid 90’s. He is also a seasoned web designer with his main website All Things Photography being nearly 20 years old with more than 20 million unique visitors over the years.
Nick is also a qualified drone pilot with 9 years commercial flying under his belt.
Clients of his include Channel 4 in the UK, the BBC, a team from Pinewood Studios in London, photographing royalty on two occasions and Nick was also the drone pilot hired to film the Sailing World Cup when it came to his hometown in Weymouth, UK. This involved more than 50 hand launches and catches at sea, on a rib bouncing around in the ocean with yachts circling his RHIB.
Nick picked up his first semi-professional camera at 13, built his own darkroom in the loft at 14, did his first apprenticeship with a professional photographer at 17 and the rest is history.
Why 2.0?
Nick built the original ATP Members website back in 2009 and enrolled 1000 members. The site was a huge success and helped to earn Nick the title of “Entrepreneur of the Year” for South and West Dorset in 2011.
Many of the original members are still in contact and some members formed great friendships, worked together and one member even travelled to the other side of the world to meet up.
In the UK, members would occasionally meet up for weekends in the Lake District, London and Dorset for photo walkabouts, meals, a few drinks, and to have some fun. Nick says he hopes to do the same with ATP Members 2.0 in the future as once again, community is a huge reason for creating the site.
