Ian Dombroski Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Law Enforcement

    FULTON, MD, June 14, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Ian Dombroski has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Mr. Dombroski obtained a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997. Upon graduating, he joined the Baltimore Police Department and throughout his 25-year career, Mr. Dombroski earned numerous promotions and assignments. He served his final 11 years in the command ranks, including as a district commander, area commander, commanding officer of the Internal Affairs Division, and the Special Investigation Response Team. He finished his career as a Major in the Performance Standards Section. Mr. Dombroski was appointed to these essential roles under the leadership of many different administrations.

Mr. Dombroski attained extensive experience creating systems to build trust and legitimacy in policing. They included the development of the Performance Review Board, which reviewed the use of deadly force and other serious police-involved encounters. Mr. Dombroski worked closely with Federal Monitors and the Department of Justice on the timely completion of compliance assessments of Consent Decree required improvement topics. He regularly testified in the United States District Court about the agency’s progress.

During his tenure with the Department, Mr. Dombroski expanded his professional knowledge by completing a JD at the University of Baltimore School of Law. After retiring in 2022, he began leveraging his expertise as a prosecutor for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. He has conducted evidentiary hearings, motions, trials, sentencings, and prosecuted over 2,000 cases. He has trained newly hired lawyers and law students. In addition to his work with Montgomery County, Mr. Dombroski teaches criminal law and procedure at Stevenson University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Furthermore, Mr. Dombroski has utilized his experience playing Division One college basketball by coaching girls’ youth basketball teams for the past six years.

Due to his vast accomplishments, he received numerous Meritorious Service Awards including a Bronze Star for Excellence through the Baltimore Police Department, a Certificate of Recognition from the Director of the FBI, and a Certificate of Commendation from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Within the coming years, Mr. Dombroski intends to utilize his considerable law enforcement and leadership expertise to explore new opportunities within the state’s attorney’s office.
