Dr. Hamlin is a distinguished figure in corporate governance and strategic management advisory services. Since 2010, she has been the chief executive officer and founder of Boardwise, based in San Francisco. She has dedicated herself to enhancing board performance and management effectiveness across various industries and in more than 54 countries. Her expertise in management has been instrumental in guiding companies through complex decision-making processes. Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Hamlin applied her innovative techniques to assist HEB Grocery, a Texas and Mexico-based chain by offering grocery and pharmacy services and helping the company navigate various challenging decisions.
In addition to her career objectives at Boardwise, Dr. Hamlin is a strategic a partner at Advantary Capital and a lead partner at CHROs2GO, part of the 2GO Advisory Group, since 2018. She has also been a consultant to Moreland Associates since 2000.
Before her current positions, Dr. Hamlin was the vice president of global human resources and administration at Trident Microsystems from 2008 to 2010, where she was responsible for overseeing human resources strategies on a global scale. She also held the position of vice president of human resources at Asyst Technologies between 2004 and 2007, was the senior vice president of organization development at Associates First Capital/Citigroup from 1998 to 2000, and the vice president at Texaco between 1996 and 1997.
Dr. Hamlin’s early career was marked by her role as the president and chief executive officer at Hamlin Harkins Ltd. from 1982 to 2010. Among other influential positions, she also taught as an adjunct professor of management for 40 years, at the University of San Francisco and East Bay California State University and as an instructor of technical writing at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute between 1977 and 1978.
Apart from her full-time objectives, Dr. Hamlin has lent her time and expertise as a board director for fourteen organizations, including LeadWomen Sdn BHd in Malaysia and the Themyscira Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, since 2011 and board director for DailyPay Inc. beginning 2017. Her commitment to excellence is also evident in her current role as an independent board director for SkyMirr Inc. since 2023.
Dr. Hamlin’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and sociology from Siena College, followed by a Master of Science in management and a Doctor of Philosophy from Rensselaer Polytechnic. She also obtained several certifications, including a credential in effective online college instruction from the Association of College and University Educators, certification in global governance from Harvard University, and a certificate for corporate governance for the profit and nonprofit sectors from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Adding to her success, Dr. Hamlin is active as a professional member of the International Communication Association and the Professional and Technical Consultant Association. Beyond these activities, she has significantly contributed to civic organizations and creative endeavors. Dr. Hamlin has been involved with the AMC Cancer Research Center, the California State Board of Legal Specialization, the United Way, and the YWCA of Santa Clara County Committee. She is also a former board director for various organizations, including the San Jose Stage Company, and a former San Jose Cleveland Ballet trustee. Additionally, Dr. Hamlin has contributed articles to professional journals, further establishing her as an expert in her field.

Looking ahead, Dr. Hamlin has an exciting new adventure. In addition to her work with clients, she is working to right a wrong done to the Brother Town Indians, who were removed from their land and farm in upstate New York decades ago. Dr. Hamlin has coordinated with the tribe and is doing a historical restoration of their two barns, converting them to an event lodge where people can come learn about the tribe and their history. When the buildings are finished, the Brother Town leaders will bless the barns and the land.
