A list of 54 movies and TV shows that will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in October 2022 has been released. Werewolf by Night, the first TV special from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, offers us something strange this month. Werewolf by Night, starring Gael Bernal and directed by Michael Giacchino, who usually composes the background music for the MCU films, debuts on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, an ongoing MCU series, has two episodes left to air. It ends on October 13 and a making-of special titled Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of She-Hulk will air on Disney+ Hotstar on October 20.
In October 2022, two second seasons will be presented to us from the home of HBO. The first is the Emmy-winning comedy-drama The White Lotus, which shifts its setting from Hawaii to Sicily and centers on a fresh group of people who are staying at a resort. The second season of The White Lotus is scheduled to debut on Disney+ Hotstar on October 31. The second is the Hugh Laurie-starring science fiction comedy Avenue 5, which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on October 11. Speaking of HBO, the high-profile Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon will wrap up its first season in October, with the season finale airing on Disney+ Hotstar on October 24. There are still three episodes left after the one we saw today.
If you’re looking for local original content, Hotstar Specials has so far announced three for October 2022. Exposed, a Telugu-language newsroom drama starring Kajal Seelamsetty and Sireesha Nulu, is the first on the list. It centers on a renowned anchor who is challenged by a rising star with a secret agenda. Does that sound a little like Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in The Morning Show to anyone else? On October 6, Exposed will debut on Disney+ Hotstar. Second, new episodes of Aashiqana’s second season will air every day from Monday through Saturday starting on October 10. The remaining courtroom drama, Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, starring Pankaj Tripathi, will air its season finale on October 7.
Not only that. In October 2022, there are many new and returning series from the US. Six animated shorts from Tales of the Jedi, focusing on the formative years of Dooku and Ahsoka Tano, transport us to a galaxy far, far away. On October 26, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi will debut. The live-action Star Wars series Andor, which stars Diego Luna, is still airing new episodes every Wednesday throughout the month of October.
In addition, starting on October 7 on Disney+ Hotstar, the venerable hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy returns for its nineteenth season. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the sports comedy-drama Big Shot’s second seasons will both premiere in October (October 26). Last but not least, Hilary Swank stars as a journalist looking for a new beginning in Alaska Daily, which is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7.
You should also keep an eye out for a number of recent American films. We’ve known for a while that the Comanche-driven Predator prequel Prey will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7 in both English and Hindi. Additionally, sometime in October, the horror movie Barbarian, which debuted in US theatres on September 9th, will be available exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar. That also applies to the teen drama Crush, starring Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho, and the Romeo and Juliet-inspired romantic comedy Rosaline, starring Kaitlyn Dever.
In other movies, an Internet meme comes to life in Grimcutty (due out on Disney+ Hotstar on October 11), and in Matriarch (due out on Disney+ Hotstar on October 21), a woman goes back to her childhood home and faces a literal demon.
What’s left is a tonne of Korean television programs, which Disney+ frequently airs. On Disney+ Hotstar, the experimental dating series Pink Lie premieres on October 5. Rookie Cops, a police academy television series, will now premiere on October 12 with all episodes. A detective on the verge of retirement engages in psychological combat with a fresh criminal in Shadow Detective, which comes out on October 26.
