From engineering to professional athletics and now music, Mr. Witt has established himself as a multifaceted professional with a diverse career history. Since 2022, he has served as the founder and chief executive officer of Broken Record Music Club in Chicago, an independent record label that collaborates with artists to provide them with support via distribution, management, public relations, marketing and social media as well as assist them in findings suitable studios to record. In this capacity, Mr. Witt manages indie pop/rock artist Jenny Scara while also aiding other bands looking to release new projects.

Day to day, Mr. Witt’s responsibilities encompass artist management, music marketing, event curation, and social media management. He is deeply committed to and involved with the artists he works with and frequently meets with them at the studio, making phone calls, and attending their shows to support them and cheer them on in the hopes they will succeed. Since venturing into the music industry, one of Mr. Witt’s most notable accomplishments has been organizing the hip-hop show “Postcards from Texas” while residing in Illinois. Despite the logistical challenges, the event was highly successful and well-received by the artists involved.

In addition to his work at Broken Record Music Club, Mr. Witt leverages his experience as a mechanical design engineer at Mighty Hook, where he has worked since 2023 to create blueprints for custom-designed items and contribute to research and development for new products. Outside of these responsibilities, he contributes his experience in social media management, playing a role in the company’s social media efforts. Before his career in the music industry, Mr. Witt enjoyed a brief stint as a professional athlete, playing for the XFL, a professional American football minor league, in 2023 following his time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Canada in 2022 and the Vegas Knight Hawks in Las Vegas in 2022.

Before his professional athletics career, Mr. Witt’s tenure in the field of engineering encompasses working as a mechanical engineer at Western Kentucky University from 2019 to 2020 and at Custom Filter LLC in 2018. He holds a master’s degree in technology leadership and innovation from Purdue University, which he received in 2022, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Western Kentucky University, where he graduated in 2020. Following his degrees, Mr. Witt continued to build upon his professional development to expand his skill set.

In 2021, Mr. Witt pursued and earned a certification in organizational leadership from Western Kentucky University and, most recently, he earned certifications in social media marketing from Cornell University in 2024, all of which have significantly contributed to his expertise in artist management and music marketing. In all he has pursued and accomplished, he attributes his success to his work ethic, passion for his endeavors, and his desire to help artists achieve their musical goals. Additionally, Mr. Witt acknowledges the unwavering support of his family as a crucial factor in his achievements.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Witt enjoys reading science fiction and various nonfiction books and is an avid movie fan who keeps up with new releases in theaters. As he continues to forge his path in the music industry, he strives to be the best he can be and aims to establish Broken Record Music Club as one of the premier independent record labels in Chicago.
