Mr. Ballinger is a distinguished professional known for his extensive risk management, insurance, and leadership development expertise. As the founder and president of Ballinger and Associates, a premier risk management firm based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Ballinger has been dedicated to providing his expertise to clients in all aspects of risk and crisis management, insurance claims, and civil mediation matters.

Mr. Ballinger’s illustrious career is punctuated by several other significant roles. Since 2007, Mr. Ballinger has served as a risk management consultant and in 2020 he co-founded his current risk management firm, Ballinger and Associates. In 2023, he founded 1st Lead U, an organization that has substantially impacted leadership training. Concurrently, he is a founding member of 10XB Captives, which is revolutionizing how clients secure risk and provide adequate insurance coverage for their small to mid-market business.

Among other professional accomplishments, Mr. Ballinger serves as a Supreme Court Rule 31 mediator, coordinating with attorneys and their parties to settle cases before they go to court. He has also become involved in creative projects such as co-hosting two podcasts: “1st Lead U,” which is now beginning season three and focuses on leadership development to positively impact people’s lives and inspire them to become better leaders, and “Oath and Pledge,” a podcast centered around veterans, the public they protect, and their transition from the military.

Before his present positions, Mr. Ballinger found success working in the grocery sector between 1982 and 1995 in various positions with Winn Dixie Stores and from 1996 to 2006 with McKee Foods Corporation both while still serving his country. In 2006 he co-founded Business Owners Benefits (2006 -2013). Mr. Ballinger was also a co-founder in Part-Time Business Partners (2018-2021). His long tenured involvement in enterprise risk management has taken him in to multiple organizations as a fractional C-Suite officer. Those companies include serving as the Chief Risk Officer for Clean Vapor, LLC, from 2019 to 2023 and C & M Disposal, Inc., and its family of companies from 2013 until present.

Apart from his civilian background, Mr. Ballinger served his country in the U.S. Army as a non-commissioned officer for over 20 years beginning in the mid 80’s, after graduating from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. This experience provided him with invaluable leadership experience that has profoundly influenced his professional journey. During his service, Mr. Ballinger completed coursework in psychology, risk management, aviation accident investigation, and senior level aviation maintenance. He continues growing his knowledge and understanding of psychology to help advance his understanding of leadership development and risk management. He also garnered several professional designations as a licensed insurance broker, public adjuster, and Supreme Court Rule 31 mediator. Additionally, he has been recognized as an expert witness in several legal lawsuits and insurance claims across Tennessee, Ohio, and Georgia.

Deeply committed to civic engagement, Mr. Ballinger serves as president and CEO of National Association of Christian Athletes and Fort Bluff Camp, a nonprofit organization that serves approximately 14,000 children annually through youth athletics and camp programs. Moreover, Mr. Ballinger co-founded Get Veterans Involved, which he oversaw from 2014 to 2018.

In light of his success in leadership development, risk management, and community service, Mr. Ballinger has been recognized with the Award for Leadership Development of People at the HEAL (Health, Education, And Leadership) Conference Award in Education in Tampa, Florida.

Mr. Ballinger attributes his success to his deep passion for leadership, which he cultivated during his military service.
