Driven by a natural curiosity regarding electricity and electrical outlets, Mr. Nance was driven to pursue a career in engineering. Upon earning a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical and electronics engineering through Prarie View A&M University in 1995, he began his professional career as a specialist for Daimler Chrysler, where he worked between 1999 and 2004. In the ensuing years, Mr. Nance honed his expertise in electrical wiring, manufacturing, and management as a quality specialist, an assistant quality control manager, and an assistant manager specializing in quality control of equipment and VPC quality analysis for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama.

Backed by his considerable experience, Mr. Nance became Hyundai’s lead quality control assistant manager in 2023. In this capacity, he has developed new processes to reduce ergonomic concerns, orchestrated yearly capital and expense budget reviews, and reduced manual bending over the process by 85 percent. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Mr. Nance aligns himself with several organizations, including the American Society for Quality and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

In conjunction with his work, Mr. Nance contributed to his community through the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, United Way, and SistasCanSurvive Coalition, which aims to increase breast, cervical, ovarian, and prostate cancer survivorship and quality of life. Given his professional achievements, Mr. Nance has been featured in Millennium Magazine and received numerous awards from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, including the Core Values Award and Team Member of the Year Award, the highlight of his career.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Nance credits his success to his family’s history of helping others and the wonderful mentors he has had throughout his career. In the coming years, he intends to obtain a certification in quality engineering and a master’s degree in power electronics. Ultimately, Mr. Nance aims to experience continued growth and success in his career.
