The Lake Mary Little League All-Star team stayed undefeated in the Southeast Region with an 11-4 win Friday over North Carolina.
Lake Mary wasted no time getting on the board, scoring on a wild pitch in the top of the 1st inning to make it 1-0.
After North Carolina tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd, Lake Mary put the game away with a combined seven runs in the 4th and 5th innings.
The key blow: a 3-run home run by DJ Mieses in the 5th that put Lake Mary ahead 8-1.
With the victory, Lake Mary stays in the winners’ bracket and next plays Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN.
They will face the winner of Friday’s late game between Tennessee and Virginia.
