Mr. Saloom is a distinguished leader in the marine boating and automotive industries, currently serving as the president of Maverick Boat Group Inc. His areas of expertise include lean manufacturing, process improvement, quality management, change management, and team development.

In his role at Maverick Boat Group, Mr. Saloom oversees the production, quality, sales, marketing, supply chain, and customer service of high-end family and fishing boats. Under his leadership, the company operates two facilities totaling 320,000 square feet, producing four premium brands with 500 employees. He attributes much of his successes to the world-class manufacturing principles he learned from experts like Professor Hajime Yamashina. He also acknowledges that his experiences with global organizations, such as Toyota, Volvo, Renault, Nissan, and Honda have significantly contributed to his accomplishments.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Saloom served as the director of operational excellence at Malibu Boats for two years. Before this, he led the North Carolina green field project for MJM Yachts and then took over operations. From 2016 to 2020, he held several positions at Hatteras Yachts, including the director of production, quality, and customer service. He then served his last two years with the company as vice president of operations.

Mr. Saloom’s earlier career includes multiple positions at Volvo Group Trucks Operations where he served as director of manufacturing operations, director of core values including safety, quality, environment, and Volvo Production systems. His tenure there also includes roles as a production quality team manager, VPS WCM coach, and engine test and paint shop supervisor.

Mr. Saloom’s educational background is extensive and has significantly contributed to his professional achievements. He earned a Master’s in Lean Production Systems from Gifu University in Japan in 2015. In 2013, he also completed an executive education in leadership and management at Mendoza College of Business as part of the University of Notre Dame.

Additionally, Mr. Saloom holds several certifications that have furthered his expertise. He currently holds a Six Sigma certification in quality lean manufacturing from Villanova University in Pennsylvania, and an advanced marine vessel power and service management certification from American Marine Institute.

Throughout his career, Mr. Saloom has been recognized for his contributions with several awards, including the Volvo Group Safety Award, the Volvo Group Environmental Award, the Superior Energy Performance Award from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Going Green Award. His commitment to industry excellence is further evidenced by his involvement with various organizations, such as the Center for Sportfishing Policy where he has served as a board member since 2023.

Beyond his professional life, Mr. Saloom is actively involved in civic organizations. He served as a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has participated in the Leadership Washington County program. He also served on the STEM board representing Volvo Group Trucks Operations from 2013 to 2016.

In his personal life, Mr. Saloom enjoys boating, fishing, flying, and spending time with his family. Looking ahead, he is excited about developing a diverse range of boat models and achieving significant growth for Maverick Boat Group Inc. He actively collaborates with local colleges like Indian River State College, University of Central Florida, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to provide formal education and certification for the engineering and management teams.
