Mr. Semenza’s career began with his service as a naval officer in the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 2010. During this time, he also served as a commander in the Navy Reserves. His military service earned him several recognitions and provided a strong foundation for his subsequent roles in the civilian sector.
Following his service, Mr. Semenza transitioned to the water treatment industry. From 1993 to 1999, he worked as a sales representative and technical director at GE Betz and Grace Dearborn. He then served as a technical manager at Enviro-tech between 2002 and 2006. His subsequent tenure at DeLaval spanned from 2006 to 2023, where he held various positions, including technical and business manager, regional sales manager and sales director. In 2023, Mr. Semenza became the director of sales for biofuels at Zee Loeffler before fully dedicating himself to establishing his own company.
Mr. Semenza’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in geology with a minor in computer science from Montana State University in Bozeman in 1985, an Associate of Science in water technology from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut CA in 1995 and a Master of Science in environmental management from Chadwick University with prerequisite credits from San Jose State University in 1999. His credentials include water distribution and water treatment licenses and additional certifications from the University of Stockholm, the Surface Warfare Officers School and the Officer Candidate School in New Port, Rhode Island.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Semenza is actively involved in civic organizations, such as the Bitterroot Wine Society, where he serves as the chair. He also supports various charities.
Lauded for his expertise, Mr. Semenza has secured two U.S. patents in the antimicrobial methods for fermentation processes and has six patents pending related to the anti-microbial use of peracetic acid, iodine, and removal of algae from water. He has also authored numerous articles in scholarly journals such as Ethanol Producer Magazine, Waste Water Engineering, and the Water Environment Federation.
Mr. Semenza looks forward to building Consultech Water Treatment into a multimillion-dollar company before eventually selling it and retiring. He attributes his success thus far to his hard work and dedication to his profession.
