    BARCELONA, SPAIN, October 25, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Sarai Melendez-Rodriguez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez is a leader in the advertising and strategic communications sectors. With a career of over two decades, she has established herself as an expert in creative direction and strategies. She currently holds the roles of creative director, senior copywriter and creative strategist, and has been self-employed since 2018. In this capacity, she supervises and creates content for digital and traditional media for local and international clients by collaborating with agencies in Latin America and the United Kingdom. Additionally, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez oversees and guides the younger generation while conducting academic research.

Having begun her career in 2002, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez was a copywriter at Euro RSCG (now HAVAS). She then served as a senior copywriter at Sajo García & Alcázar from 2007 to 2008, followed by a similar role at BBDO Puerto Rico Inc. between 2008 and 2010. Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez’s journey continued at de la Cruz & Associates from 2010 to 2012, where she also held the position of senior copywriter. From 2012 to 2013, she expanded her expertise as a senior copywriter and social media manager at FCB International, where she was influential in creating ideas for brands like Chips Ahoy!, Coca-Cola, Coors Light, Blue Moon and Finlandia Vodka.

In 2014, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez joined JWT Puerto Rico (now Wunderman) as a senior copywriter, a role she held until 2018. Concurrently, she worked at Grey Group from 2016 to 2018 in the same capacity, where she was involved with accounts such as Clairol, Pantene and Cover Girl. During this period, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez also contributed to academia as an advertising professor at the University of Puerto Rico between 2016 and 2017, teaching courses in copywriting and campaigns. Since 2022, she has been imparting her knowledge as a professor at her alma mater, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, teaching Copywriting for Advertising and Public Relations and Creative Techniques and Processes and serving as an academic researcher.

Dr. Melendez’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in communications with minors in literature and history from the University of Puerto Rico in 2003, a Master of Arts in advertising and public relations from the University of the Sacred Heart, summa cum laude, in 2010 and a Doctor of Philosophy in strategic communications for advertising and public relations, cum laude, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2022. Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through various professional credentials, including a postgraduate certification in international public relations from the European Forum of the Business School of Navarra in 2011, certification in orange tourism from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico in 2015 and certification in cultural and creative tourism from the University of Barcelona in 2015.

As an active member of industry-related organizations such as the European Advertising Academy and the American Academy of Advertising, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez continues to influence the field through her professional endeavors. She has also contributed to academic literature with several co-authored publications in Gender in Management: An International Journal, the Journal of Marketing Communications and the International Journal of Advertising on various topics related to gender diversity and advertising creatives.

Throughout her career, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez has received numerous accolades for her work. Notably, she won awards at the Cannes Lions Festival in 2014, 2015, and 2017, the Ibero-American Communication Festival in 2015 and 2017 and the Ibero-American Advertising Festival in 2017 and 2021. Her team’s victory at the Cannes Festival of Creativity in 2016 was particularly significant as it highlighted Puerto Rico’s talent on an international stage. Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez attributes her success to being driven, determined, hardworking and eager to learn.

Looking ahead, Dr. Melendez-Rodriguez aims to work on creative campaigns for various brands to help them fulfill their social roles while increasing her involvement in academia.
