HOOVER, AL, November 25, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Elizabeth A. Thigpen has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process. As the founder of The Mindful Oasis, LLC, Ms. Thigpen’s life is a testament to her unwavering determination to transform adversity into an opportunity to help others heal.
Elizabeth’s journey took a dramatic turn when medical treatments led to significant memory loss, wiping out much of her knowledge in computer sciences—a field in which she had degrees and certifications. In 2000, she earned her first degree from Herzing University, followed by two certificates from Virginia College, one in 2001 and the other in 2002. In 2008, she began a networking program at Virginia College but was just one class shy of completing it when she started medical treatments in 2010, leading to significant memory loss. This forced her to change careers, and though she initially sought a role in management at TJ Maxx, she found that it wasn’t the right fit.
During her time at TJ Maxx, she realized her true calling wasn’t in retail management but in helping others find peace, particularly those facing the same challenges she had experienced. Her memory loss made her acutely aware of the limitations of traditional medical treatments, and she found in hypnotherapy a safe, side-effect-free solution that could help treatment-resistant patients in the mental health field. In 2023, she started a program at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, expanding her expertise in holistic healing.
Through The Mindful Oasis, she now offers a holistic approach to healing, integrating trauma-informed hypnotherapy, crystal energy work, and art therapy to help people recover their mental well-being. Elizabeth’s personal journey of overcoming her own trauma and memory loss is what fuels her passion for helping others avoid the same struggles.
A profound influence in her life was her father, a war hero and remarkable leader, who taught her the importance of courage and perseverance. His example inspired her to rise above the doubts others had about her, proving that she could succeed despite the setbacks. Elizabeth’s commitment to never give up was a lesson deeply instilled by her father, and it is a quality that has driven her to help others reclaim their lives.
Elizabeth’s motivation to recover and rebuild her life was also deeply rooted in her love for her child. At a time when she could have given up, she chose instead to heal so she could be present for her family and offer a better life for her child. Her personal transformation became the foundation of her professional mission: to help others overcome adversity with the same strength and resilience.
In addition to her work in holistic healing, Elizabeth has a background in computer sciences and customer service. She worked as a systems administrator at Weathertech Distributing Company, Inc., and provided customer support at INLINE Technologies before her treatments led her to a new path.
Elizabeth is a proud member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and remains committed to continuous growth and excellence in her field.
Looking to the future, Elizabeth envisions creating a rehabilitation facility that goes beyond surface-level solutions, addressing the root causes of addiction and trauma through a holistic approach to mind, body, and spirit healing. Her goal is to reduce the overdose rate in her community by 50% and provide a recovery experience that leads to lasting change, not just temporary relief.
Outside of her professional life, Elizabeth enjoys painting and crafting, which allow her to express herself creatively and unwind. She is also deeply proud of her son, whose happiness and success are a constant source of inspiration.
Elizabeth A. Thigpen’s journey from adversity to empowerment is a story of resilience and hope. Her experiences have not only shaped her career but have inspired her mission to help others heal, ensuring they never have to face their challenges alone.
