OCALA, Fla. – The Florida Government Utility Authority on Friday announced a precautionary boil water notice affecting the Ocala Oaks community in Marion County.
According to a news release, FGUA experienced a water main break and there have been reports of low or no water pressure, affecting 650 customers.
Following the restoration of service, a precautionary boil water is in effect. During this period, customers are encouraged to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and bring water used for cooking and drinking to a rolling boil for one minute before using.
Officials said the precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until tested water samples indicate the water is safe to drink.
The FGUA said it apologizes for any inconvenience customers may experience during the advisory period.
