In his role of President and CEO at Three Roses Management Consulting, Mel helped launch the luxury VAI Resort in Glendale, Arizona. Mel’s expertise in fine dining and orchestrating large-scale events played a crucial role in the resort’s conceptualization. His approach to business and management is defined by placing particular importance on team-oriented thinking, connecting with the community, and leveraging connections to meet and exceed revenue goals.
Born in Chennai, India and immigrating to the United States from Switzerland, Mel has spent nearly three decades carving out a storied career path across the hospitality industry. He served as Stewarding Manager and Food and Beverage Director at Starwood Hotels & Resorts before ascending to hold such positions as general manager at GF Hotels and Resorts, Director Hotel Operations at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City with 2600 Hotel rooms, Director of Hotel Operations at Caesars and Bally’s Atlantic City with over 2400 Hotels rooms and was instrumental in opening Ultra Luxury Caesars Palace and Resorts Bluewaters 576 hotel rooms in Dubai, U.A.E. During the worldwide COVID pandemic Mel worked as a site operations manager for Amazon where he helped support, mentor and motivate their hourly workforce and created a rotation program for their sites. Mel also built and executed productivity plans to Megacycle operations, increasing unit capacity to 3.6 million packages.
Before reaching his current role with Three Roses Management as President & CEO, under his leadership, Caesars Atlantic City was ranked as the number one resort on TripAdvisor in 2018 and was awarded the esteemed AAA Four Diamond Award in the same year.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mel placed great importance on his educational pursuits, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Financial and Managerial accounting at Loyola College, India. He then traveled to Switzerland and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Alpina School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Additionally, he has attained multiple certifications on his vocational path, including his C.H.A. certification as Hospitality Administrator by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Six Sigma Global Institute, certifications in Business Management, Business Strategy and Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online and his most recent achievement from MIT’s Sloan School of Management where he completed his AI Implications for Business Strategy.
Among his career accomplishments, Mr. Gomez is especially proud of attaining his United States citizenship, through his O-1 Visa in 2018 and being the only hospitality professional to do so. He remains grateful for the many recommendation letters he received from organizations and colleagues, including the Real Hospitality Group, which helped further emphasize his worthiness of citizenship.
Well-known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Gomez is a member of a number of worthy organizations, including Knights of Columbus, and fundraises for breast cancer awareness with the New Jersey branch of Real Men Wear Pink. He is also the lead manager with The Bowery Mission, an organization that seeks to alleviate poverty by cooking for and serving the homeless and the hungry.
Looking to the future, Mr. Gomez remains dedicated to growing his management consulting agency and further expanding its reach.
