Dr. Newton began his career in medicine after earning an MD from Meharry Medical College in 1981. He completed a flexible internship at Hurley Medical Center in 1982, followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which he completed in 1986. Furthering his specialization, Dr. Newton pursued a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of South Florida from 1991 to 1993.
In addition to his medical education, Dr. Newton has continued to expand his knowledge base by pursuing a Master of Business Administration and obtaining a certificate in artificial intelligence from the University of Texas Austin. These academic achievements have significantly contributed to his success in various entrepreneurial ventures.
Dr. Newton’s professional journey includes several key roles. Since 2015, he has been the chief executive officer and co-founder of eDiscovery Healthcare Solutions LLC, where he has played a pivotal role in advancing electronic discovery for health care professionals. Concurrently, since 2018, he has also served as the chief executive officer and founder of Easement Development Holdings LLC.
Prior to these roles, Dr. Newton was the chief executive officer and director of medical research at Genesis International Medical Services LLC from 2012 to 2017. His earlier positions include serving as a radiologist at Excalibur Medical Imaging between 2009 and 2012, staff radiologist at Sheridan Healthcare from 2008 until 2009, and staff radiologist and medical director at Rose Radiology Centers Inc. from 2007 to 2008.
Dr. Newton’s career is also marked by his service in the United States Navy Medical Corps, where he retired with distinction. His military background has instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and dedication that continues to influence his professional endeavors.
Among Dr. Newton’s notable accomplishments are two United States patents and several publications. He co-authored “E-Discovery Nuts and Bolts: The Essentials of Electronic Discovery for Healthcare Professionals” in 2016 and holds a patent pending for a system and method for refunding property taxes using options and the capital markets.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Newton is deeply committed to his faith, which has guided him through numerous challenges and motivated him to overcome discrimination and injustice. He engages in online missionary work, sharing words from the Bible with people around the world.
