For the preceding five years, her tenure at Eberjey saw her in both the senior director of product development role and the senior director of product development and production role.
Ms. Henao’s career includes various significant roles, such as CCO, Chief Creative Officer at Bijoux Terner LLC in Miami from 2007 to 2013 and Design and Product Development Director from 2001 to 2007 at Hanesbrands Inc in Mexico from 2001 to 2007. Her career has taken her through all the stages of processes in the textile and manufacturing industry such as concept and design, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, merchandising and all the services required to ensure clients’ expectations and satisfaction from a commercial point of view.
Educationally, Ms. Henao holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Oakland University, obtained in 1981, and a diploma in design management from Universidad EAFIT, completed in 1995. She also has various certifications in technical design, leadership, team management and marketing among many others that have bolstered her innovative approach, including a certificate in Design Thinking for Innovation from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2017 and a certificate in Innovation by Play from Learning Links at Sara Lee in 2003.
Ms. Henao is an active member of several industry-related organizations, such as the American Colombian Chamber of Commerce, Fashion Group International and the Design Management Institute. Additionally, she is an accomplished author of poetry books written in Spanish.
