Hope Spring eCards, the online greetings card website, that raises money exclusively for water poverty alleviation charity, Hope Spring announced the launch of its Welsh language Valentine’s Day eCards today. In a blog post on the organisation’s website, it announced more than ten Welsh language Valentines’s day ecards, in three different categories including animated and video ecards.

According to the site platform manager Seun Olonade, who is also one of the card designers for Hope Spring eCards “we were encouraged by the positive response to our Welsh Language Christmas eCards last year, that is why we decided to design Welsh language Valentines’ Day ecards for Valentines day”. We do not expect the cards to be as popular as Christmas cards, but we are confident that Welsh speakers would like and send the cards.

Asked why the need for a Welsh language Valentines card, she said “there are some Welsh words, which the English equivalent just don’t capture the spirit of what is being said when translated to English. A good example is the word Cwtch.”. She added “there is a popular saying in Wales that only the Welsh can Cwtch, that is an expression best captured in Welsh than any other language”.

Hope Spring supporters and visitors to their website can send the Welsh language valentine’s day ecard from February the 3rd. The charity uses all proceeds from eCards sent on its website to fund clean water projects in Africa. It said it has so far helped at least one hundred thousand people out of extreme water poverty.

You can find out more information about Hope Spring on their website and send the Welsh language valentine’s day ecard from Hope Spring eCard website, which is different to che charity’s website.
