After earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting and business/management from Kent State University in 1963, Mr. Levenson began his decades-long career with Deloite Haskins & Sells, as a staff accountant. Subsequently, he joined IBM as a marketing representative, before co-founding Central Data Systems, Inc. He was the company’s executive vice president and a board of directors member until the company was acquired by Itel Corp in 1975, where Mr. Levenson oversaw several operating divisions as the group vice president, data services.
From 1981 to 1990, Mr. Levenson honed his management expertise serving in various senior executive positions at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), including group president-employer services, president- Mid-Atlantic division, and vice president-strategic planning-employer services, and a member of the executive committee and Board of Directors at ADP. In the following years, he expanded his management skills and experience through serving in senior executive positions and as a member of the Boards of Directors at Merck-Medco, First Data Corporation, and also as a director on several other boards of publicly held companies, including Broadway & Seymour, Ceridian, Superior Telecom, Vestcom, Emisphere Technology, and Paycom Software as well as on several private company Boardsplus founding Lenox Capital Group, LLC, a private venture capital investment company, which focused on investments in early-stage software technology and tech-based service companies.
Throughout his career, Mr. Levenson has also served on numerous pro-bono boards including the Friendship Circle of New Jersey, the Grand Marina Association-Coral Gables Florida, the Washington Institute, as a trustee, the United Jewish Communities Federation of Metrowest New Jersey, and the Deering Bay Master Property Association and the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club. Before retiring in 2024, he was the initial Chairman and served on the Board of Directors at Paycom Software, Inc. for over 17 years.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Levenson has the most pride from helping Paycom Software, Inc., beginning when it was a small startup with $7 million in revenue, and today, as a public company, revenues are company nearly $2 billion with a market capitalization is about $12 billion. Though hard work, dedication, strategic vision, and significant management experience with focus on execution have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to the opportunities he has been fortunate to encounter and act upon. After facing the devastating loss of his father at a young age, he became the caretaker for his mother, a responsibility that significantly shaped his character. Looking ahead, Mr. Levenson intends to continue leveraging his expertise as a consultant/investor and to spending more time with his family.
