Since 2024, he has been instrumental in developing a data case management system aimed at mitigating shrinkage and enhancing safety within the company. His strategic focus on training and standard operating procedures addresses administrative errors, which account for a significant portion of the company’s shrinkage.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Maksimowicz served as a loss prevention manager and multi-site loss prevention lead at Amazon from 2021 to 2024, where he managed the asset protection team across 10 facilities, each with approximately 500 employees. His responsibilities included overseeing make-on-demand and merch-on-demand divisions, as well as loss prevention and critical incident management in Canada. His tenure at Amazon was preceded by a successful career in the home improvement industry from 2009 to 2021, culminating as a district asset protection manager in Las Vegas. Notably, during his time at Lowe’s Companies Inc., he achieved recognition for significantly reducing safety incidents, earning the Western Division Safety Performance of the Year award.
Mr. Maksimowicz’s professional journey began with his service in the Army National Guard from 2000 to 2009, where he served as a field artillery tactical data systems specialist and infantryman before graduating from Officer Candidate School. This military experience instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and work ethic, which he carried into his civilian career. His early work experience includes roles at Home Depot and McDonald’s, where he developed foundational skills that have contributed to his success.
Academically, Mr. Maksimowicz is committed to continuous learning. He holds an associate degree in general studies from Portland Community College and a bachelor’s degree in history and social sciences from Portland State University. He furthered his education with a Master of Business Administration in management and leadership from Western Governors University. Currently, he holds a doctoral certificate in strategic leadership from Liberty University and is pursuing another doctoral certificate in law and policy.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Maksimowicz is actively involved in civic organizations such as the Portland Rescue Mission, Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. His commitment to community service reflects his dedication to making a positive impact beyond his professional endeavors. Outside of his career, Mr. Maksimowicz cherishes spending time with his family, including his spouse and two children.
