Having led a diverse, rewarding career for over 30 years, Mr. Davy began working at the Food and Drug Administration, where he served as a chemist from 1983 to 1991 before becoming a consumer safety officer until 2014. Concurrently, he managed RAD Inc. between 1998 and 2009 as the company’s chief executive officer, which laid the foundation for his later transition into financial services.
Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Davy was a trained acrobatic pilot, certified flight instructor at CTI Professional Flight Training and Falcon Aviation Academy. He also worked as an insurance advisor for various companies, including Symmetry Financial Group, Senior Markets Management Group and Prudential Financial in Atlanta, and as a private client banker at JP Morgan Chase.
Mr. Davy’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the City University of New York in 1984. He was accepted and enrolled in the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Executive MBA program but took a leave of absence after the first year to obtain his Series 7, 63, 65 and 66 securities licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. His extensive certifications include various insurance licenses across several states, several securities licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and multiple flight instructor ratings from the Federal Aviation Administration. To further enhance his expertise in securities, Mr. Davy is also pursuing a credential to become a chartered financial analyst.
Besides his full-time commitments, Mr. Davy is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, reflecting his lifelong passion for aviation. He is also actively involved in his community as a church usher and member of the men’s choir at his parish.
During his tenure with the FDA, Mr. Davy received several awards, including a Special Act/Service Award in 2010 and a 30-Year Service Award in 2013. Driven by his analytical nature, lifelong commitment to learning, and sense of humor, which he inherited from his parents, he plans to transition into investment management at Ashford Advisors while continuing to connect with individuals through his work and personal interests.
