Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement Friday that Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema asked him to keep her committee duties, and he agreed. Sinema announced this on Friday she goes the Democratic Party to register as independent. “I think she’s a good and effective senator and I look forward to a productive session in the new Senate with a Democratic majority,” Schumer said. “We will maintain our new majority on committees, exercise our power of subpoena and be able to remove nominees without a relief vote.”
