GREENWICH, CT, March 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Scott H. Fischer has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Mr. Fischer has made significant contributions to the metal recycling industry. As the co-founder and director of ACI Industries Ltd., where he has served since 1984, he oversees the trading and processing of non-ferrous and ferrous metals around the world. His most notable achievement was being among the first to open a metal recycling office in Moscow, where he facilitated barter deals for Western companies. The venture capitalized on internal prices in Moscow being 50 percent of global prices, creating substantial market opportunities as described in the book “The World Is for Sale.”
Mr. Fischer’s storied career began at GTE Sylvania, where he sold metals out of the company’s Towanda office. It was here that he identified a gap in the market when a customer sought his assistance in obtaining better prices for scrap metal. The experience led him to establish PM Recovery, a company focused on metal recycling. After selling the business to gain more expertise in various metals, he worked with Kennametal and Umicore in New York before launching ACI Industries Ltd.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Fischer successfully earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of New Hampshire in 1982. His education laid the foundation for his business acumen and strategic thinking, both of which have been instrumental in his leadership. He attributes his achievements to his strong desire to reach his targets and his commitment to establishing ACI as an industry leader while training others to contribute to its growth.
A devoted family man with three daughters and four grandchildren, he enjoys traveling, exercising, playing tennis and entertaining his two dogs during his leisure time.
Looking to the future, Mr. Fischer remains passionate about promoting recycling and identifying opportunities for materials not currently being recycled. He believes the depletion of natural resources makes metal recycling crucial for the sustainability of technology and electronics. Consequently, his goal is to encourage ongoing recycling efforts and develop inventive methods to ensure materials are reused effectively.
