Looking for fun summer plans? The Stetson University Art Center is showing new exhibitions

DELAND, Florida. – Looking for something fun this summer? The Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center at Stetson University just opened three new galleries to appeal to visitors of all ages.

“Into the Bowl: Curating Toiletpaper Magazine”, “Squares, Swirls and Saturation” and “Dusting Off: Pieces from the Permanent Collection” are intended to entertain all guests, especially families, and are free to visit.

The art center is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibitions will be briefly closed from June 24th to July 10th before reopening from July 11th to August 11th. 25

According to center officials, they will also be hosting a party on Wednesday, June 21 to celebrate the birthday of Oscar Bluemner, a modernist painter whose collection of more than 1,000 pieces Stetson acquired in 1997 from his daughter, who lived in DeLand living Vera Bluemner Kouba.

The center is located at 139 E. Michigan Ave. and has free parking for guests.
