First Steps: Common Reasons for Termination & How to Avoid Them

B-Stock understands that life happens sometimes and from time to time buyers need to cancel an order. Since B-Stock wants everyone to leave a transaction happy and satisfied, we have put together a guide to ensure the best chance of a successful order.

The auction title is a snapshot, not the whole story.

An auction title has limited space, so our bid team only distills the key elements of the auction, such as: B. the main product component, number of units, condition, original retail value and location. However, to really assess whether the auction meets your inventory needs, the auction listing contains all the details available to the seller for that specific product. Please review the manifest fully before placing a bid.

manifest details

Each seller can have different levels of detail in their manifest. Although B-Stock encourages its sellers to provide as much detail as possible so buyers can make an informed decision, the business of liquidation means that not all sellers are able to provide minute details. Please bid accordingly. If your business model requires very specific product parameters to run successfully, bidding on an auction with a manifest that doesn’t include those parameters may result in a transaction that is not to your satisfaction.

Understand Stock Images

Likewise, relying solely on the included images of an auction may create expectations that are inconsistent with the additional details on the auction and its manifest. Due to the nature of the liquidation, very few sellers are able to provide actual images of the product due to stock, warehousing and staffing limitations. Stock photos are usually provided instead. Unless the auction specifically states that the images are of the actual product, please proceed with the understanding that the images are stock photos.

Original retail value

Each auction title contains an original retail value. This value reflects the product’s value when it was first launched, not its current value. B-Stock recommends that you find out about the current prices before submitting your bid.

Overall, it’s important to remember that a bid is a promise to pay with the information currently available for the auction. Please do not bid as a “placeholder” with the intention of asking a clarifying question after the auction has ended or with the assumption that more information will become available after the auction is won. B-Stock wants you to only bid on auctions that work for you based on the information currently available.

Product Conditions

Although B-Stock is working to standardize the terms sellers use to post their products, many sellers may use their own terminology. Each auction and marketplace will have a definition of the condition in which the product is listed. Please read these terms carefully before placing a bid.

Shipping hiccups

While many of our marketplaces offer Shipping by Seller Agreement, where shipping costs are displayed below the bid box, some of our marketplaces require buyers to make their own shipping arrangements and do not include shipping costs. If an estimate is available, you will see it below the bid box.

At the bottom of the auction lot page you will find a Shipping section detailing the requirements for receiving that particular lot.

You can find more information about the different shipping conditions that you will find with B-Ware under Buying Basics: Shipping Methods for Auction Lots.

Residential versus business address

Also, please make sure your address is up to date before placing a bid. Many people doing business from home might be tempted to mark their home address as their business address, but this will cause complications with your delivery later on. Describing your address as “business” or “resident” depends on how your address is zoned, which affects whether or not a full-length articulated lorry is able to deliver your truckload of pallets . If you receive your product in a residential area, you should mark that address as “residential,” even if you conduct business from that address.

Tail lift and loading ramp requirements

Your address also includes a field where you can request tail lift services if required. A tail lift is a small elevator attached to a truck that lowers pallets from the truck to the ground. If you have a forklift or loading dock at your site, you most likely do not need a tail lift.

Important: Some sellers or auctions may require the recipient to have a loading dock. Please see the shipping details of each auction before placing a bid to ensure you are eligible to receive the order.

If you require a tail lift for safe unloading at your delivery location, please make sure your address is properly updated before bidding and please understand that truckload auctions are not equipped with tail lift services. Orders were canceled because a buyer was unable to receive a product. We do not want this to happen to you as it can be an extremely painful and disappointing process for everyone involved.

Multiple delivery addresses

If you have multiple delivery addresses, you have the option to select an address from the live auction. This way, if the auction uses mandatory shipping, you can see which shipping costs work best for you. We recommend verifying all addresses before placing a bid.

Please note that if you place a bid on the auction linked to address A but decide to go with address B before the auction ends, you will need to place your bid a second time with address B selected. This is because you have to accept the new ship cost to the new location via a new bid.

Although you can update the address once you win an auction and it becomes an order, we don’t recommend it as a best practice. All new addresses will incur new shipping rates, and if you are unhappy with the shipping costs to your new address, the original shipping rates you won the auction on at the original address may no longer be available to you, especially in this economy. Any update to an address (including a request for a tail lift) will result in a new shipping price deduction overriding the original shipping cost. People canceled orders about it.

It is best to ensure that your address book is in order, with each address properly identified as home/business and properly noted as having liftgate service needs. Make sure the correct address is selected in the live auction before placing your bid for best results.

Enter your bid

Sometimes, buyers win orders for a much larger amount than intended due to an incorrectly entered bid (e.g. entering $10,000 instead of $1,000). If you make a typo on a bid, please try contacting us via phone or chat so B-Stock can discuss the situation with you before you win the auction. Please note that there are some parameters where an agent cannot cancel a bid, e.g. B. when an auction is too close to its end.

B-Stock recommends all bidders to use the confirmation window to review their bid before submitting it. Once a bid has been entered into an auction, a pop-up window will appear on your screen confirming the bid amount and additional auction details. Please take a moment to ensure this is the auction you want for the amount you have entered.

Note: No bids will be canceled within 15 minutes of the end of the auction or during the auction offer popcorn.

“I still want to cancel my bid or order”

B-stock has it all. Sometimes, no matter how careful you are, circumstances happen and you buy an order that you find you cannot benefit from, or you can no longer receive the order because your stock is no longer available. There is currently no feature that allows a buyer to cancel their order themselves. As such, all inquiries must be sent to our customer service team who will do their best to work with you. B-goods must ensure that cancellations are avoided as far as possible. If there is a pattern of termination, penalties can be imposed, with adverse consequences for your account, which can include fines or even suspension.

Please note that each seller reserves the right to cancel an existing order (see Conditions of Purchase for more details). B-Stock understands that the platform only works if orders are successfully purchased and discourages cancellations by both the seller and the buyer.

If you have any questions about canceling a bid or order, please contact our Customer service Team.
