Netflix is partnering with Nike Training Club to bring fitness content to its platform. In a blog post, the video-streaming company announced that it will be offering 30 hours of Nike exercise classes next week, starting Friday, December 30th. The Nike-Netflix Sessions will be released in two batches, with the initial launch featuring five programs (46 episodes) while the other half drop sometime in 2023. Programs will be available in multiple languages across all Netflix plans, with options to choose workout intensity.
“It’s not always easy to motivate yourself to exercise, but there’s a certain appeal to being able to feel the burn and then jump right into one of your favorite shows,” he said post reads. “And now you can do just that: just before the new year Netflix Members can stream fitness content from Nike training club for the first time.”
The concept and its timing fit perfectly with some of the most common New Year’s resolutions made each year, which usually involve eating healthy and getting more exercise. Netflix brings the workouts featured in the Nike Training Club app led by Nikes top-notch certified trainers. The program offers a range of options tailored to different fitness levels, including strength training, yoga exercises and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises.
As mentioned, the first batch will feature a total of 46 episodes divided into five curated sessions. They are as follows:
- Kickstart Fitness with the Basics (13 episodes)
- Two Weeks to a Stronger Core (7 episodes)
- Fall in love with Vinyasa Yoga (6 episodes)
- HIIT & Strength with Tara (14 episodes)
- Fitness to feel good (6 episodes)
In recent years, Netflix has branched out from its core business of movies and TV series, even inclusive To play as one of the features on the phone. And while Netflix has built its own games studio, the company also brought third-party titles like Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story and The game awards 2022 nominated immortality among other things.
The partnership with Nike allows Netflix to deliver the content fitness-focused users want while saving the money it takes to create original fitness content for its platform. In a way, this is Netflix’s version of Apple Fitness+ – minus the tight integration of workout data.
acc diversity According to sources, this new initiative will act as “kind of an experiment” for Netflix, just like they’ve done with interactive content. “With Nike’s training club videos already produced, the streamer hopes to potentially follow the same path as peloton, which has grown in popularity since the bike company was founded in 2012,” the report explains. Peloton is a US-based exercise equipment company that integrates internet-connected touchscreens that stream on-demand exercise programs through a subscription service.
