CLEVE-LAND — Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez hit a home run in his first three at-bats Thursday night against the Boston Red Sox.

Ramírez hit a solo shot in the first run, a two-run home run in the third – the 200th of his career – and added another solo home run in the sixth.

The switch hitter hit two of the homers with his right hand and the other from the left side of the plate.

Ramírez’s sixth-round home run came from former teammate Corey Kluber, who earned him the All-Star nine that season and pushed him past Travis Hafner to ninth on the club’s career home run list with 201.

Ramírez came on again in the sixth half as the Guardians sent ten men to the plate and struck to end the inning.

His three-homer game is his fourth in the majors this season, following Texas’ Adolis García on April 22, St. Louis’ Paul Goldschmidt on May 7 and Oakland’s Jordan Diaz on May 9.

Cleveland has a four homer game by Rocky Colavito on June 10, 1959. The last four homer game in the majors came by JD Martinez of Arizona on September 4, 2017.
