For more than 40 years, Mr. Jankovsky is an experienced financial executive and managing director at Dallas-based JM Advisors LLC, a premier investment advisory firm he founded in 2008. Initially, he focused solely on buying Distressed Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS). Bonds, the company has since expanded to provide advisory services to commercial real estate lenders.
In addition to his work at JM Advisors LLC, Mr. Jankovsky also serves as President at Broadsword Commercial Mortgage and was a Managing Director at Quadrant Mezzanine Partners, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Investment Strategy at BH Capital and a team leader at Beal Bank. Previously, he held various other senior positions as vice president and senior producer at JP Morgan Chase & Company, regional manager at Goldman Sachs Commercial Mortgage Capital, and regional manager at Merrill Lynch in New York.
Well respected in the industry, Mr. Jankovsky was selected among 10 other industry finance professionals to help build a Phoenix-based CMBS platform in 2015 with a major regional bank with exposures in California, Arizona and Nevada. In 2008, Mr. Jankovsky was also instrumental in convincing a private investment platform to purchase $41 million of AJ-rated CMBS bonds from Merrill Lynch of New York for $13.6 million, raising more than $38.5 million net in less than two years (resulting in an IRR of 79.44% and a multiple of 2.83 for all investment parties).
Additionally, shortly after graduating from Baylor University, Mr. Jankovsky worked for the State of Texas Department of Banking and then was with a large Dallas-based bank holding company, continuing his career in commercial banking, commercial loan processing and the derivative asset modeling on behalf of the Resolution Trust Corporation arm of the federal government. This experience led Mr. Jankovsky to his first Wall Street position in New York City in 1995 with Merrill Lynch. At this time, Mr. Jankovsky developed an affinity with the capital markets and the corporate finance aspect of commercial real estate. Looking to the future, Mr. Jankovsky is considering mentoring younger finance professionals, which has always been one of his greatest passions. In addition to his manufacturing accomplishments at three of Wall Street’s largest companies, Mr. Jankovsky believes his accomplishments have also been reflected in his ability to mentor others.
In his civil capacity, Mr. Jankovsky serves on the advisory board of Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee. He is also currently a board member of Three Pillars, based in Dallas.
A graduate of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University, Mr. Jankovsky received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. In addition to his expertise, Mr. Jankovsky was a long-time professional member of the MBA, where he also spoke publicly on various professional committees on a variety of commercial real estate finance topics.
