Tampa, Fla. — Sam Hartman completed 23 of 36 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns in what is likely to be his last game with Wake Forest, a 27-17 win over Missouri in the Gasparilla Bowl on Friday night.

The redshirt junior will now attempt to enter the NFL draft or transfer portal.

Hartman threw his 108th career touchdown pass to set an Atlantic Coast Conference record with a 5-yard smash against Taylor Morin, who made it 7-0 in the first quarter. He tied on points with Clemson’s Tajh Boyd (2010-13) and finished 110th overall.

Hartman was 33 yards short of North Carolina’s Philip Rivers (13,484 from 2000-03), the only quarterback in ACC history to reach 13,000 passing yards.

Hartman and Morin hit 2 1/2 minutes to play for a 16-yard touchdown.

Justice Ellison gave the Demon Deacons a 14-3 lead five minutes into the second quarter with a 1-yard TD run. He had 64 yards on 21 attempts.
