SEATTLE – Seattle’s Stefan Frei ended the game with three saves to concede a tenth league-leading goal of the season and Pedro Gallese saved two shots as Orlando City played the Sounders to a goalless tie on Saturday night.
Seattle (8-7-5) improves to an all-time 2-0-2 at home against Orlando City (7-5-7).
The Sounders suffered a 1-0 loss to holders Los Angeles FC on Wednesday after Frei conceded a first-minute goal. Seattle hadn’t conceded a goal in the first minute since the New York Red Bulls pulled off that feat in September 2014.
Orlando City has improved to 3-0-6 in their last nine away games against Western Conference opponents. A 3-2 win last August gave the club their first win over Sounders, bouncing back from a two-goal deficit. Before his unbeaten run, Orlando City were 10-0 away against the West.
Orlando City returns home Saturday to host the Chicago Fire. Seattle hosts the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.
