Look away now if you don’t want to spoil Samsung’s next Unpacked event, which is expected at the end of July: a new leak reveals all the specifications and a variety of renders for the upcoming event Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 And Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones.
Originally revealed by a well-known tipster SnoopyTech and then reported by XDA developerthe official looking renders show the Z Fold 5 in dark grey, beige and light blue and the Z Flip 5 in beige, light green, dark gray and light pink.
While there aren’t many obvious design changes to the Z Fold 5 compared to its predecessor, the Z Flip 5 looks different than the current model Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4: There is a larger title screen and the camera configuration has been rearranged.
Several previous leaks have hinted at a larger cover display for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year, similar to what we saw with the one we recently unveiled Motorola Razr Plus. That means you can do more with the phone when it’s closed.
Attractive specifications
As for the specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to come with a 7.6-inch main display (2176 x 1812 pixels) and a 6.2-inch outer display (2316 x 904 pixels). The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will run everything, including 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
The cameras appear to be a 50MP+12MP+12MP triple-lens main module, with a 4MP under-display camera on the inside and a 10MP selfie camera on the outside. The battery capacity is said to be 4,400 mAh, which is the same as the existing model.
Coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, it says that it will have a 6.7-inch main display (2640 x 1080 pixels) and a 3.4-inch cover display (748 x 720). Internal specs will appear to be the same as the Z Fold 5, except there will be 8GB of RAM instead of 12GB.
We’re expecting a dual-lens 12MP+12MP camera module on the outside and a 10MP selfie camera on the inside, while the battery capacity is said to be 3,700mAh – again the same as last year’s models. Aside from the larger cover display, there’s no dramatic upgrade here, but enough to get us interested in what Samsung has to offer indicate in July.
