It looks like starfield will not be available on physical media.
Although Physical editions of the action role-playing game are currently available for pre-ordera quickly deleted tweet from Bethesda Support’s Twitter account today revealed that “there are no physical discs” and “all physical editions include a code for the chosen platform.”
However, this is the internet, so nothing goes away forever, and that Tweet is still available seen at the Wayback Machine internet archive site.
Many players have contacted Bethesda through their official social media accounts and the account that made the message and then deleted it, but to no avail.
It’s currently unclear if the tweet was inaccurate or just plain fake, and without reliable Twitter verification, it’s difficult to know exactly which Twitter accounts are real or not. Bethesda has not yet commented on the situation.
Starfield is expected to be released on September 6th for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
Todd Howard recently announced this Starfield’s romance novels will revolve around four main characters.
Despite Starfield’s 1,000 planets and billions of people, it turns out there will only be four romantic characters. On June 22’s Kinda Funny Xcast, Howard spoke about romantic options in open-world roleplaying.
“The four main Constellation franchises support full her and romance questlines,” Howard said at the time, answering a viewer question about romance in the new game.
We also recently discovered that Starfield will have various handcrafted locations in the galaxy on certain planets in set locations, while others will be randomly generated when a player lands on a planet. However, there is no fishing. Sorry fish fans.
