Computer manufacturer HP has recently launched a number of new gaming products in India, including the HP Omen Transcend 16 and Victus 16 laptops, the 27-inch HyperX gaming monitor and the HyperX Cloud II Core wireless gaming headset. We’ve had the privilege of spending some time with these newly launched products and here are our first impressions of them.
HP Omen Transcend 16
With a starting price of Rs. 1,59,999 in India, the HP Omen Transcend 16 The gaming laptop is equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 series graphics card and a 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900HX processor. It is considered to be HP’s thinnest and lightest notebook with a thickness of 19.9 mm and a weight of less than 2.1 kg.
The laptop is only available in one color option: Shadow Black. It features a 16-inch WQXGA IPS display at 240 Hz with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The display can be up to 400 nits bright and has a 7ms response time. You get a full-size backlit keyboard.
The Omen Transcend 16 features 1TB PCIe (Gen4) NVMe M.2 SSD storage and 16GB DDR5 RAM. It features an extensive array of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, three USB Type-A ports, an Ethernet port, a headphone and microphone combo jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an AC charging port.
The HP Omen Transcend 16 has a 97 Wh battery. Other notable features include a 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and dual speakers with audio by Bang & Olufsen. Windows 11 Home is preinstalled on the laptop.
HP Omen 16
The HP Omen 16 starts at Rs. 1,04,999 and can be configured with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 series graphics card and a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700 processor. Again, this laptop is only available in one color option: Shadow Black. It features a 16.1-inch Full HD 165Hz IPS display. It has a maximum brightness of up to 300 nits and a 7ms response time. The Omen 16 features a full-size backlit keyboard.
The laptop has a 1 TB M.2 SSD for storage and up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. The Omen 16 has a USB Type-C port, three USB Type-A ports, an Ethernet port, a headphone and microphone combo jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an AC power port. The Omen 16 comes with an 83 Wh battery. Other notable features include a 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and dual speakers with audio by Bang & Olufsen.
HP Victus 16
The HP Victus 16 Pricing starts at Rs. 59,999 and comes equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU and an Intel Core i5-13500H processor. The laptop is available in the Performance Blue color option. It features a 16.1-inch Full HD 165Hz IPS display with 300 nits brightness and 7ms response time. The Victus 16 features a full-size backlit keyboard.
You get 512GB PCIe (Gen4) M.2 SSD storage and up to 32GB DDR5 RAM. For connectivity, the laptop uses a USB Type-C port, three USB Type-A ports, an Ethernet port, a headphone and microphone combo jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, and a AC connection. The HP Victus 16 has an 83 Wh battery. Other notable features include a 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and dual speakers with audio by Bang & Olufsen. Windows 11 Home is preinstalled on the laptop.
HP HyperX 27 inch monitor
HP also introduced its new 27-inch QHD HyperX (1440p) gaming monitor with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time. It features an adjustable arm with height and angle adjustments to suit the user’s needs. In the short time I’ve spent with this monitor, I found that the colors looked fairly accurate and the content was crisp and clear. The monitor costs Rs. 30,990 in India.
HP HyperX Cloud II Core wireless gaming headsetT
Finally, the HyperX Cloud II Core Wireless Gaming Headset costs Rs. 9,190 in India. The wireless headset claims to have a 30-hour battery life and features 53mm drivers.
The HyperX Cloud II Core features an aluminum frame with a red and black color scheme. It also comes with a noise-cancelling microphone, which should come in handy for multiplayer games.
