14th December 2022. minicabit, the UK’s largest and most visited taxi comparison site, launches its ‘Fares that Care‘ campaign to support the well-being of NHS staff, patients and communities this winter. Minicabit is itself donating £1 to NHS Charities Together for every taxi ride booked now on its website, app and partner channels and booked until 31st December 2020St January 2023. This coincides with the launch of its brand new mobile app, showcasing deals on the cheapest taxis, now including electric vehicles, from local private hire companies across the UK.

This campaign is the latest example of minicabit’s support for the NHS. During the pandemic, when Britain first went into lockdown in 2020, Minicabit raised over £250,000 to fund free taxi rides for NHS workers across the UK to reach the front lines when public transport was restricted. Recently, with co-funding from UK innovation agency Innovate UK, a comprehensive online taxi booking system was launched for NHS teams across locations, also allowing them to track their savings on taxi spend and carbon footprint.

Amer Hasan, CEO of Minicabit, said: “Since the peak of the pandemic, the challenges facing NHS workers and their communities have only gotten tougher, particularly this winter. Minicabit stepped up when transportation was a major concern, now the problems are broader. So we turned to NHS Charities Together as their network of 230 NHS charities across the UK reach those in need on a much larger scale as they know where help is needed most.”

Ellie Orton OBE, CEO of NHS Charities Together, said: “We are delighted that minicabit has stepped up once again to help us support our NHS staff, patients and communities across the UK. At a busy time with people booking trips for their Christmas parties and airport trips across the UK, the Minicabit donation from their own earnings will mean a lot to the charities we support during this crucial winter time. We hope many benefit from the taxi fares taking care of them and help the NHS go that little bit further for everyone this Christmas.
