Goodbye Twitter, hello threads

Since Elon Must bought Twitter, millions of users have complained about the app.

The app works differently: you can’t see tweets from people you follow, and they’ve just introduced something called “rate limits” that limits the number of tweets you can see.

Oh, and let’s not even get started on Twitter Blue.

It seems our worries about Twitter’s longevity may now be over, and that’s thanks to Instagram. Instagram and Facebook’s parent company, Meta, has unveiled a new app called Threads. It looks a lot like Twitter and allows users to post messages, reply to other users, and like or repost messages.

They can also use it to follow accounts linked to their Instagram, making it a little easier to get new followers.

The app was officially launched on the morning of July 6th and some people on Twitter have already stated that they will be leaving the long-running app for something new.

There have been plenty of new Twitter impersonators over the past few months, but none of them have really caught on. Twitter has been around for so long that garnering a following and common Twitter followers with an entirely new app is a huge challenge.

The fact that Threads allows you to find users you already follow on Instagram is a huge plus. Nobody wants to search for friends to follow. So if it’s easily accessible, people might be more willing to finally let Twitter go first.

Will you leave Twitter and switch to Threads? Let us know in the comments!
