Oppo announced three new products at its annual Oppo Inno Day 2022 technology event on Wednesday. The offerings include assisted reality (aR) glasses dubbed the Oppo Air Glass 2, the OHealth H1 family health monitor, and the MariSilicon Y SoC. However, the Chinese manufacturer has not announced an official release date for the products. The health monitor is Oppo’s first product under the OHealth brand, which focuses on smart healthcare.
The Oppo Air Glass 2 weighs around 38 grams and its SRG resin diffractive waveguide lens supports vision correction and a host of other adjustments. oppo claims the glasses can make a call, translate in real-time and also enable location-based navigation. The Air Glass 2 also has voice-to-text capabilities to help hearing-impaired users, the company says.
The health monitoring device OHealth H1 now combines six functions for monitoring health data in a single device. Oppo claims the device can measure blood oxygen levels, take an electrocardiogram (ECG) and record auscultation of the heart and lungs.
The OHealth H1 can also measure heart rate and body temperature and perform a sleep tracking function. The device weighs 95 grams and comes in portable size.
Oppo’s third product at the Inno Day event was MariSilicon Y Bluetooth Audio SoC, the second chip in the MariSilicon family. The company claims that the MariSilicon Y is one of the first SoCs to use the N6RF process technology.
The SoC features an in-house developed Pro Bluetooth Pack, which Oppo says increases Bluetooth bandwidth by 50 percent compared to other Bluetooth SoCs on the market. According to the company, it comes with URLC codec technology and a dedicated NPU capable of transmitting 24-bit/192kHz lossless audio over Bluetooth.
Oppo said the audio chip, which is intended for wireless Bluetooth earphones and headphones, can offer audio quality similar to a wired connection, and in particular would improve users’ spatial audio experience.
