Elon Musk announced today that Twitter users will soon be able to swipe sideways to switch between tweets, trends, topics, lists and more. The new Twitter CEO has made sweeping changes to the social media platform since his $44 billion (around Rs.3.6 billion) acquisition. He has also suggested that several major UI changes for the platform will arrive in January. Twitter recently rolled out the View Count feature for tweets globally to show how alive the platform is, as it is believed that most users just read a tweet without interacting.
musk shared a post on Saturday revealing that a new side swipe feature will be coming to the platform in January. This feature aims to give users easy access to recommended and followed tweets, trends, topics and lists. Also musk says that as Twitter’s AI gradually improves, “recommended tweets, lists, and topics will become great”. For now, Twitter allows users to read tweets in chronological order or home timeline with recommended tweets.
A new Twitter navigation is coming in January, allowing you to swipe sideways to switch between recommended and followed tweets, trends, topics, and more.
Until then, tap the star icon at the top right of the home screen to switch.

In a recent response to a comment from a Gadgets 360 employee, Musk said answered that “several major UI improvements” will appear on the microblogging site in January. In addition, Twitter may also be working to replace the views, likes, retweets, and quote tweet texts below each tweet on its mobile clients with icons.
In related news, Twitter recently had introduced a new view count feature for tweets. This feature was previously only limited to videos on the platform. In particular, the view count is visible to everyone, not just the original poster. However, the feature is currently not compatible with older tweets.
Twitter Blue has too receive a few new features lately. The site will now reportedly prioritize paying subscribers in searches, mentions, and replies over regular users. Additionally, Twitter Blue subscribers can now upload 60-minute Full HD videos, which is an increase from the previous 10-minute limit.
