Akshay Kumar Actor Ram Setu will begin streaming on Prime Video starting December 23, Amazon announced on Wednesday.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma by Parmanu and Tere Bin Laden, the Hindi-language action-adventure film hit theaters across India in late October around Diwali.
Ram Setuwho also played the lead role Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha, follows an atheist archaeologist-turned-believer (kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of Indian heritage.
Ram Setu, formerly known as Adam’s Bridge / Rama’s Bridge, is a chain of natural limestone shoals between the southeast coast of Tamil Nadu in India and the northwest coast of Sri Lanka.
In the Hindu mythology epic Ramayana, the bridge was built by a loyal army Lord Rama who helped save his wife Sita from the clutches of the ruler of Lanka, Ravan.

“The film received positive response during its theatrical release and we are excited to introduce it to audiences far and wide.
“It’s a well-researched film that not only emphasizes the authenticity of the storytelling, but also offers viewers an immersive experience through its state-of-the-art VFX technology that further enhances the narrative,” the 55-year-old actor said in a prepared statement.
Manufactured with a reported budget of Rs. 150 crore, Ram Setu opened up to negative reviews and was a box office bomb, fetching just Rs. 93 crore during its theatrical run.
Amazon’s first theatrical co-production in India, Ram Setu was produced by Amazon StudiosKumar’s Cape of Good Films, Lyca Productions and Abundantia Entertainment. Zee Studios took over the cinema distribution.
Ram Setu will be released on Prime Video in India and around the world on December 23rd.
