We’ve heard a lot of rumors about it iPhone 15and the latest that catches our attention concerns a new breed of battery technology Apple may be launched with the flagship phones due to launch in September.
According to experienced tipster @RGcloudS (above BGR) all four iPhone 15 models should be equipped with the so-called stacked battery design. It is already used in electric vehicles and, as the name suggests, means that the battery components are stacked on top of each other.
In theory, this means that the battery can be packed more densely and offer a higher energy density. The downside is that the battery gets hotter. So careful construction is required for this to work properly in an iPhone.
Assuming Apple’s engineers get it right, we can certainly see an improvement in battery life with the iPhone 15 series. It could also mean that the batteries are smaller, leaving more room in the phone body for other components (or for cooling mechanisms).
Limited introduction
We don’t get much more information about this stack battery technology from the leak. Apparently the technology remains “limited” so it’s possible it won’t be fully implemented this time around while Apple fixes some of the issues.
The same source goes on to say that iPhones were tested with 40W wired and 20W MagSafe charging (previously 20W wired and 15W MagSafe charging). iPhone 14 series) – while also pointing out that these speeds may not be reached until the iPhone 16.
We should mention that as we did previously reportedThe Samsung It is rumored to be the Galaxy S24 Ultra get the same Stacked battery technology and associated increase in charging speeds.
Another reason the iPhone 15 phones could offer better battery life than their predecessors is the introduction of the Apple A17 chip and the improved efficiency it offers. We should know for sure when these phones will launch later in the year.
