One of the most annoying Microsoft Excel Quirks may finally be over thanks to a new update from the company.
the spreadsheet program has announced they are working on a new feature that will hopefully solve a major problem for Excel users performing repetitive tasks.
The new Office Scripts feature allows users to record actions in a spreadsheet, which can then be automated and repeated, potentially saving hours of fiddling and frustration.

In his update entry (opens in new tab) On the official Microsoft 365 roadmap, the company notes that the update will allow Windows and Mac users alike to benefit from the efficiency and productivity gains.
The tool was previously only available to Excel for the web users, and the company now wants to bring that initial success to more users around the world. It didn’t offer too many details on whether changes or upgrades would be made to the original build, but hopefully we’ll see a demo soon.
The feature is still listed as “under development” for now, with a planned general availability date of March 2023, so users won’t have to wait too long.
The news is the latest upgrade for Microsoft Excel as the company ensures its software remains useful and productive for users everywhere.
This includes a recent upgrade formula suggestions, which considers contextual data to suggest a handful of supported formulas, including SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, COUNTA, MIN, and MAX. Microsoft hopes this will not only save its users time, but also allow them to “learn more about Excel formulas.” [they] use them.”
Elsewhere, a separate Excel update will allow the software to do this Insert images directly into a cell, which makes them part of a worksheet for the first time, instead of just floating over the sheet. According to Microsoft, this new feature is designed to make your Excel spreadsheets more personalized and customizable, adding a whole new dimension to your work.
