Launch of Airtel’s 5G services in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Rourkela

Leading telecom company Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of its 5G services in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Rourkela in Odisha.

The company said it deployed the ultra-fast 5G Services at Kalinga and Birsa Munda stadiums in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela respectively, which are hosting the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Championship.

Airtel 5GPlus The services will be available to customers in stages as the company continues to build its network and complete the rollout. Customers with fifth-generation 5G-enabled devices will use the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost until rollout is more widespread, the statement released Tuesday said.

Airtel said it will expand its network and make its services available across the state in due course.

Soumendra Sahu, Chief Operating Officer – Odisha, Bharti Airtel said: “We are thrilled to be powering the two stadiums hosting the Men’s Hockey World Cup. Customers can experience a super-fast network at the stadium, allowing them high-definition video streaming, multiple chats, instant photo and video uploads, and more.”

He added: “We are also rolling out our 5G services in the twin town of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, as well as in Rourkela. Customers can now experience an ultra-fast network and enjoy speeds up to 20x to 30x faster than current 4G speeds…”

Airtel 5G Plus would strengthen the entire portfolio of services the telecom company offers, it said. Additionally, it allows for super-fast access to HD video streaming, gaming, multiple chats, instant photo uploads, and more. The company said India will be able to boost economic growth as Airtel 5G Plus will boost education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility and logistics.

Bharti Airtel too announced the launch of its 5G services in Hissar and Rohtak in Haryana last week. The telecom giant also said users with 5G-enabled devices can experience the high-speed Airtel 5G network without paying anything extra. This is only until the rollout of 5G services is more widespread.
